As both an attorney and business owner, Kelly understands the real-world challenges entrepreneurs and creatives face, especially when balancing bold ideas with regulatory complexity. She doesn’t just say no—she helps clients find smart, compliant ways to say yes.

Kelly has been practicing law for 17 years, spending more than a decade in private practice at top Florida law firms, where she represented corporate clients in complex commercial and regulatory matters. That experience shaped her practical, business-first approach to legal counsel and is why she is equally at home in boardrooms, creative agencies, and startup accelerators.

Her branding experience began in the premium goods space, where she developed innovative, cost-effective strategies to combat counterfeit products, infringing domains, and e-commerce threats. Kelly went on to become Costa Del Mar, Inc.’s first dedicated in-house counsel, advising the globally recognized consumer brand on everything from contract law and global brand protection to marketing compliance and product claims.

Over time, her work has evolved to support entrepreneurs, attorneys, and growing companies across the full spectrum of brand development, from business formation and trademark registration to marketing compliance, licensing, and website compliance.

In addition to her legal practice, Kelly has launched and managed multiple businesses and serves as a trusted advisor to both nonprofit organizations and private companies. This hands-on experience gives her a practical, business-minded perspective that informs every client relationship. Joann oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm, ensuring that its systems, client experiences, and strategic direction align with the needs of modern businesses.

With over 17-years of experience spanning litigation, legal education, brand strategy, and business management, Joann has advised everyone from early-stage entrepreneurs to national organizations. Her career includes serving as an assistant public defender, directing career and professional development initiatives at Stetson University College of Law, and managing multiple businesses, including a digital marketing agency focused on accessible design. She is known for bringing user-centered strategy and a collaborative approach to every project and partnership.

Joann is a frequent speaker and published author on topics at the intersection of law, leadership, branding, and accessibility. She has presented programs and CLEs at national and statewide conferences—including programs for the American Bar Association, Florida Bar, and Florida Association for Women Lawyers—on issues ranging from inclusive digital design and professional identity to legislative advocacy and workplace equity. Her writing has been featured in online platforms and bar publications, including co-authored pieces on accessible web design, courthouse lactation space initiatives, and mentorship in the legal profession
